Alumni Council elections are currently underway in Education and Social Work; Law; Pharmacy; and the Economics, Business and AGSM group: ballots close at 2pm, Wednesday 13 November. The ballots for Senate elections also close shortly (4pm, Monday 11 November). Please visit the Senate website or Alumni Council Elections website for further details.

The University of Sydney Chancellor and three members of the University's academic and alumni community have been named among Australia's most influential women as finalists in the Australian Financial Review and Westpac Group 100 Women of Influence awards.
New research centre addresses Western Sydney's most pressing health issues
The University of Sydney is bringing its most innovative and visionary multi-disciplinary research and education centre to Western Sydney to find real-world solutions to some of the most pressing health issues in the region: obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Tedeschi family continues tradition of giving
Mark, Michael and Claire Tedeschi, grandchildren of the late Rosina Tedeschi, a well-loved University of Sydney lecturer and prominent member of the local Italian community, have made a generous $10,000 donation to strengthen the perpetual funding of the prize that bears her name.
New human systems biology centre for Sydney
The University of Sydney and its affiliate, the Centenary Institute, will establish the Ramaciotti Centre for Systems Biology next year following the recent announcement of the $1 million Ramaciotti Biomedical Research Award.

INSPIRED: The Campaign to support the University of Sydney
The Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association of Australia (CMTAA) has donated $75,000 to the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Health Sciences to fund research on Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT). The research will establish the cost of CMT to the community and recommend strategies to reduce the health burden of this little known genetic disorder. Find out more
2014 Peter Cameron Sydney Oxford Scholarship
Applications are now open for law graduates who are not of more than three year’s standing from the date of their graduation in the Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor for the 2014 Peter Cameron Sydney Oxford Scholarship.

The Business School is conducting a Chinese Investors Pilot Survey to investigate the Australian investment climate for established or potential Chinese investors in Australia: begin the survey. Also, researchers from the School, in cooperation with export professionals, have launched Australia's biggest international business survey: provide input.
